EIIC offers confidential supportive psychotherapy and referrals by licensed social work professionals. Services are by appointment only and EIIC encourages any enquiries to contact the center for further information.
Laura O’Brien is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Psychotherapist. She has been with the EIIC for 17 years as a Social Work supervisor to staff and interns earning their MSW degrees at various universities in the metropolitan area. Laura is a graduate (1993) of the Columbia University School of Social Work and she specializes in mood disorders (mostly depression and anxiety), chemical dependency, relationship issues, career issues and issues pertaining to the immigrant experience, as well as being undocumented and living in America. Laura has extensive experience working in inpatient hospitalization settings as well as outpatient settings, employee assistance and managed care settings. Laura is able to do brief, short- term supportive counseling as well as long-term outpatient treatment. She has worked in both the Bronx and Queens offices prior to the pandemic and is currently providing services remotely.
